Diary from the Core of Alnwick - daily updates

Thats an interesting theory, BGMKD, but I disagree. Starting in the core can make your tribe very solid (in regards to positioning on the map) while tribes on the rim are usually extremely displaced. Not mentioning the fact that competitive players are in the core while the rim is filled with newbies and inactives. Sure, you might dominate your province, but a 1 week headstart goes a long way. I don't believe RNG would be anywhere close to where we are now if we started on the rim.

Just conquered a new village. The guy I nobled approached me 3 days ago, asking me for cooperation. Apparently, his perception of cooperating with me was expressed in nobling my biggest farm. That helped me take a decision about his offer and approximately 24 hours after he nobled the biggest barb village in the province I took his main as a compensation. I'm really satisfied with his build which is really close to my main. Unfortunately, my next village will be a lot smaller because I need to block the access of other players to my province.

Upgrading the resources buildings 24/7 in all 3 villages requires about 500k a day and in addition to that I need about 200k for recruitment of new troops. My daily resources production is about ~300k and my farming income is ~350k. The upgrades of the resources buildings and the increasing farming income should eliminate the 50k gap and I will starting minting coins again very soon. Total military population (3 villages): ~9500.

Interesting. How many building slots do you have in your second village as opposed to your first. More? Less or the same?

I've just lost the entire nuke from my main village, so this is the final chapter of this diary :) Although, the guy who killed it doesn't have enough troops and coins to invade my province, he proved to be a good player and is the one who should take them. His name is gosu (KOE) and is a bit too proud to take the villages as a gift but I'll make him change his mind because they're definitely not a gift but a well deserved reward for his work.

So, just to summarize. I certainly don't think my overall strategy was wrong and my rank (4th place out of 30000+ players) proves it. I was outfarming and outgrowing my area but I made one big mistake and I had to pay dearly. Just one final tip from me: never underestimate another player, regardless all circumstances. GL!

I've 3 slots in the first village and two in the rest. The third slot is a quest reward. You need more than 2 slots only in the beginning.when you

Thanks for you diary bgmkd. It was interesting to follow your start up strategy in the brand new TW2. It was a good read and very helpful. :)
