Rally point and Statue levels

So I have a question for the community and I wanted to know what's the purpose on upgrading the statue and the rally point, what is it for exactly if anybody could kindly explain it.

I'm not sure at all about this, but I believe the following somewhere: You can send multiple attacks at the same time or around the same time from your rally point, and the more levels you have on it, the more attacks you can send simultaneously. And this feature is not activated yet. I believe I have read this somewhere.

Paladins statue is for getting the research only afaik.
