Lost Beginner Protection

Hi, I have a question regarding beginner protection.
I understand that when one attacks a player you lose the beginners protection.
However, I was sending farming parties around and just so happens that one of the farms was nobled by another player and I lost my beginner protection on my second village.
How was i suppose to know that the barb was on the verge of being nobled by another player??
so it seems a bit unfair to lose my beginner protection under such a situation.
Hope someone would care to explain if this is normal or not.

Very good point ...
Unlike things like faith/morale which are calculated when the attack hit , attack protection shouldn't be lost if the target wasn't another player the moment you send the attack not when it land ...

Well, for me what's lost is lost. It not like the game would restore my beginner's protection. Though it would be great. I guess I'll just try to survive better. It happened because after a certain amount of time I wasn't able to cancel the attack order although I saw that the barb turned into a player's village. Too bad me I guess.
