incoming attacks

im very new, my protection on my main village hasn't even run out yet so iv never been attacked by another player.

my question is, can you see incoming armies on the map like you see trades to/from your village (with the dotted line and a timer indicating when it will arrive)

No, you won't see the line with timer, but the village will be marked (similar to how adding a group to a village marks it) with a red axe, and an alert will be at the bottom centre of your screen.

The incoming attack will also be listed in the 'Incoming' tab under Overviews, and in the 'Timeline' that is at the bottom of the screen.
