Inactives turning into barbarians explained

In order to determine which village turns into a barbarian village there are a few checks on a daily basis:
  • First, we check how many players are on the realm (example: 10000 players have a world account on Castel del Monte).
  • We now check which account is inactive. There are two things that determine inactivity:
    • An account having no login or activity for at least 30 days is considered inactive.
    • An account which only had 1 login within 14 days after its registration is also considered inactive.
  • Then we apply the ‘Barbarization factor’ (which by default is on 5%): 5% of 10000 players is 500 players.
  • We now take our 500 most inactive players and delete one of their villages each at random. How do we determine ‘the most inactive’ players? That is simple, these are our oldest inactive accounts; so, who turned inactive first by the inactivity requirements described above.
  • This process is repeated every day.

FAQ:

Q: What happens with troops that are stationed in a village which now turns into a barbarian village?

A: Troops that are at home in this village (or are outside supporting another village) are deleted. Troops that support this village are sent back.

Q: Will the village be renamed to Barbarian Village?

A: No. The village will keep its set name.

Q: What happens to a Paladin that is assigned to this village?

A: The Paladin will be deleted and will have to be re-summoned in another village if the player choses to become active again.

Q: What happens if a player decides to come back after a period of inactivity?

A: The player can take over his account normally. If he was one of the ‘most inactive’ players and affected by the barbarization process, he will get an account with a reduced village count or might have to start anew.

Q: Are Premium players (VIPs) ignored by the barbarization process?

A: No. Premium players will also be categorized as inactive if applicable.

Q: What happens to messages and conversations an inactive player is in?

A: Nothing. We only barbarize villages and do not delete characters/accounts or anything attached to it.

Q: Does an inactive character remain in a Tribe?

A: Yes, as this is also not part of the barbarization process.

Q: Does the player keep his Inventory if all his villages turned into barbarian villages?

A: Yes, the player will keep everything apart from his villages.

Is there a delay between a world starting and this barb process starting? Or does it start turning inactive barb right away?
