Tribe Rank

Can someone explain the tribe ranking? I see players rank #1 with much fewer points than another player ranked further down the list. The member ranked number 11 in our tribe is ranked 8 globally whereas #1 is about 1000 globally. Got to be something wrong with the tribe ranking.

I sure wish they would fix the tribe member ranking. It makes no sense now. A tribe member ranked #1 has a global rank of 1600+ where as the highest point member in the tribe is ranked #9. No way to tell where I'm ranked.
