8.Shortcut bar to search the contents of the forum.

9."Navigation Bar".Now this is not really it's name,it's what i'm calling it.Basically it shows in which tabs you are.For instance in the above image i am in "Home" under "Forums".Here is a better example of what it does;
NTryyNS.png
Now in this it displays:Home,Forums,The Castle Grounds,Announcements,Game Updates.
This basically shows The order in which you have navigated to go to a certain thread.Now you dont have to go in a particular order,clicking a thread in the game updates will simply show the above order.
Say you read a update and now want to go back to the castle ground(Main tab) you simply click"The Castle Ground" and you will be taken that main forum. Similarly in a world forum tab if you're reading a thread and want to go back to the homepage clicking home/forum takes you there.Saves the Trouble of scrolling a bit.

10.Clicking this opens a "Quick Navigation Menu".
What it looks like;
qYywxfH.png

What you can do with it;

14.Latest Profile posts on a members profile is displayed here.Clicking the 3 dots(•••) on the bottom right corner of each profile post brings up the post and you are able to like the post/comment on it.

15."Main Tabs".These are identified easily as they are written in a Blue-ish Grey long background.Main tabs can include several forum and these forum can have several other sub forums. We will discuss this more in a bit.

16."Main Forums"Include main forum for a certain main tab.

*Identifying Read and Unread Forums*
____________________________________
When you first join the forum all the threads are unread. Then once you start viewing threads they become read. Now if you want to identify unread threads it's easy. Here is how.
  • All the main forums can be checked from the homepage itself as to whether all the threads in the particular forum is read or unread. To do so simply check the crown icon in front of the main forum name,If it is all lit up then there are unread posts. If it looks faded then there aren't any unread threads.
    qPgxTW1.png
    -Contains unread threads.
    x8t0xk0.png
    -Contains no unread threads.
  • In main forums you find multiple threads. You can identify whether these have been read or not as well. If a thread is unread/there are new posts there will be scroll lit up in yellow color. If you have already read a certain thread then it will be a light brown scroll.
    IMGP8xW.png
    -Unread Thread
    778PWBw.png
    -Read Thread
  • If there are unread threads in a certain 'sub-forum' then you will see a small blue flag in front of the sub-forum.
    QudBTjn.png
    -Contains unread threads

*Creating a New Thread*
____________________________________
  • Now that we know how to identify unread threads lets see how to create your own new thread.
    To create a new thread all you have to do is simply click "Post New Thread" which can be found just below the search bar in any forum.
    pyVhffz.png
  • Next you add a title to your thread(1).Then if a prefix is available to be picked,choose one(2). Then in the text field below that you type whatever you want your thread to say(3). You can make it look better,add images etc using BB-codes(4). If you want to attach a certain file that can be done too(5).You can also preview your thread before posting it(6).
    You also have the ability to select a set of option(7)
    • Watch this thread..:Meaning you will get an alert if someone replied to this thread.
    • Receive email notification:If ticked you will receive a email as well when someone likes a post or replies in this thread.
    • Post a Poll:Allows you to add a poll to your thread;
      Question:Add the question to the poll in this field
      Possible responses:Select the responses are can vote for. To add a new response click 'add additional response'
      Maximum select-able responses: If set to unlimited a player can vote for multiple responses,If set to once a player can only vote for one response Also you can add a number of your choice on the number of responses a player can vote on.
      Options: If allow voters to change their votes is ticked then a player can change his vote. If display votes publicly is a player can see who votes for which response. If allow results to be viewed without voting is ticked then a player can see before he/she votes which response has gotten the most votes etc. If close this poll after... is ticked the poll will automatically close for voting after the time period you have mention expires
    Finally clicking create thread will create your new thread(8).And that is how you create a thread.Click the spoiler below for the numbers.
    wIVlm6s.png
    What a newly created Thread looks like
    InCRlyp.png

    Every reply you make will also contain that small side area (to the left)which shows your avatar,number of posts,number of likes and trophy points and that bottom area which shows your signature.
*Thread Prefixes*
____________________________________
Now earlier you might have noticed i mentioned "prefixes" multiple times. Prefixes basically are filters for forum. They help navigating through a forum much easier. If you click a prefix then only threads with that prefix will be displayed on that forum. To see all the threads again simply remove the filter. In the TW2 Forum we have around 16 prefixes as of now.

Types of Prefixes:

prefix_zps7qzsxqnc.png

That's about it. Now you might wonder why prefixes are really necessary. But as i mentioned before it helps you filter threads so that you can see only threads with a certain prefix.
I.e:In the bugs section a player wants to check whether a certain bug has been reported so you go to the 'fixed and reported' section in the bugs forum and click the "
yq3LzWy.png
" prefix. Then all the thread with only that prefix will show. So you can browse through and see whether a bug you have found has been reported before.

*Posting a Reply*
____________________________________
Now if you find yourself wanting a express your thoughts to a certain thread you can do so by posting there. This is super easy,all you have to do is scroll to the bottom of the thread(last page) and you will find a smaller version of the text editor box i showed you before. Simply type what your heart desires and hit "post reply"

*Quoting,Reporting and Liking a Post*
____________________________________
Quoting
There are also some other neat features called quoting and liking. The other is just to report a certain post to the mods. That said,what can you do with quoting and liking?
Simple. Say you have a certain post by another user you want to reply to(so that the posts after his wont get confused as to what you're saying) simply click "reply" on the post you want to quote and it will be put to your text editor.
IMbhajE.pngp
You can also multi quote many people,simply click reply to all the post by others you want to comment to and they will be added to the text editor. Although do remember You cannot move through multiple pages hitting reply. Once you leave to another page all your quotes in the text editor will be lost. So if you want to quote posts throughout multiple pages you will have to copy the quotes in the text editor at the end of one page,go to the next paste it there and then start clicking reply again. Repeat the process.
Alternatively another cool way to reply to someones post is by highlighting his/her post and clicking reply. This is useful if you want to reply to only a certain part of the other players post. simply highlight and click reply.
Original post:
L4UXq5A.png

What i will be replying to:
FK8m4PS.png
Liking a Post
I will go into more details about likes later,for now let's see how to like a post. If you like someone elses post you can "like" it like on Facebook. Simply click "like" which is found on the post.
KyZyMPn.png

Reporting
To report a Offensive post click report which is found on the post and a small window will open. write the reason as to why you're reporting the post and click report post.

BB-code%20huide%20banner_zpsiumoxrs7.png

*What are BB-codes?
"BBCode or Bulletin Board Code is a lightweight markup language used to format posts in many message boards". Basically what this does is that it lets you style your posts,add tables,images,align text etc. In this forum software it is much easier to style your text because you don't have to add tags(i.e Bold tags is [B][/B]). You can if you want to,but you don't have to. So it's way easier.

*The Simple Guide*

16.Insert: Lets you add Quotes,Spoilers,code & Strikethrough
How to add Insert Options?
  • Quotes
    To add a quote click the
    dx8tR8D.png
    icon and select quote. Then add the desired quote in between the [quote][/quote] Tags. If you want to add the person who said it type [quote=][/quote] and after the "=" sign add the persons name.
    0w28aSw.png
  • Spoilers
    To add a spoiler click the
    dx8tR8D.png
    icon and select spoiler. After that a box will open if you wish to add a title to spoilers(as i have done) add the title in the text field if not click continue. Then type your desired text in in between the [spoiler][/spoiler] tags.
    Q7nHT6x.png

    YWxYlaL.png
  • Code
    To add a code click the
    dx8tR8D.png
    icon and select code. After that a box will open from that select the type of code you want to add(you can choose from general code,PHP and HTML) and in thetext field add your code and click insert.

    w7yBjAE.png

    Yq4XMcp.png
17.Drafts: Allows you to save your work as a draft.
To be honest i have no idea how this BB-code works. There is a automated drafts saver as well but you can also save it using the BB-code. Although i have no idea for how long a draft is saved or how to bring it back up.
How to save a draft?
Pretty straight forward click the
CfBnpY4.png
icon and save draft. Your draft should be saved then. To delete your draft click the
CfBnpY4.png
icon and select delete draft
  • Undo & Redo: Allows you to undo a mistake or redo something.
    Works like normal undo function and redo function.
  • Remove Formatting:Allows you to remove a BB-code function
    Works like the unlink function. Highlight the text with a BB-code effect enabled and then click the
    zRfFKDv.png
    icon and the effect will be removed.
  • Use BB-Code Editor:Hides BB-Code buttons
    How to save a BB-code Editor?
    Basically this button hides the BB-code bar and lets you use tags instead of having to use the buttons provided in the BB-code bar. However toy don't need to have this enabled to use tags.
And that is it for the simple BB-code guide. You can also merge BB-codes and use them,i.e add a bold effect,color and a different font family to a text if you want to.Simply have each BB-code you want enabled and start typing. Or you can also highlight you text and keep clicking the desired effects you want for a single text. However you cannot merge some BB-codes this way. If you have noticed I have used Unordered lists inside ordered lists at times,you cannot do this using the BB-code bar. You have to use tags and make sure you nest them properly. You will learn about this in the next BB-code guide.

*Nesting Multiple BB-codes
Most of you already know how to make a text have multiple BB-code effects. I will show below a few of the BB-codes nested. You guys have to test it out and check for more:)
  • [B][I][U][Color][Font][Size] - I will nest these BB-codes into one text.
    Example:
    [B][I][U][color=red][font=Book Antiqua][size=5]This text is bold,italic,underlined,has color red,font family of Book Antiqua and a size 5[/size][/font][/color][/u][/t][/b]
    Output:
    This text is bold,italic,underlined,has color red,font family of Book Antiqua and a size 5
    Note: The most important part about nesting is making sure the closing tags are closed in proper order. In the above example i started off the Bold tag so that should be closed last. Easiest way to remember this would be if you start with tags 1,2,3,4,5 end with 5,4,3,2,1. If not your text will not be displayed properly!
  • [list][list=1] - I will nest ordered lists in a unordered list.
    Example:

    [list]
    [*]Bullet Point 1
    [*]Bullet point 2
    [list=1]
    [*]Sub point of Bullet Point 2
    [*]second sub point of Bullet Points 2
    [/list]
    [*]Bullet Point 3
    [list=1]
    [*]Sub point in Bullet Point 3
    [list=1]
    [*]Sub point inside sub point of bullet point 3
    [/list][/list]
    [*]Bullet Point 4
    [/list]
    Output:

    • Bullet Point 1
    • Bullet point 2
      1. Sub point of Bullet Point 2
      2. second sub point of Bullet Points 2
    • Bullet Point 3
      1. Sub point in Bullet Point 3
        1. Sub point inside sub point of bullet point 3
    • Bullet Point 4

    Note:It's all about opening and closing your tags in proper order. When nesting lists you need to make sure you start a new list tag if you want to have a sub bullet point and make sure you close it before continuing with the main bullet points.
  • [URL=][IMG][/IMG][/URL] - Adding a link to an image
    I'm sure most of you will be exciter to use this one.
    Example:
    [url=https://en.forum.tribalwars2.com/][img]https://en.forum.tribalwars2.com/styles/tw2v1/design/header.png[/img][/url]
    Output:
So Like the above three examples you can nest plenty BB-codes but remember you cant next some BB-codes if you use the BB-code bar instead of the tags. For example you can have links inside spoilers,images inside spoiler etc. Play around with the tags to discover cool nesting styles:)

*Trophy Points,Likes & Newsfeed*
____________________________________
Let's begin with;
  1. Trophy Points
    Simply put trophy points are points awarded for completing a list of milestones. Each milestone you complete you will get a certain amount of points. The list of milestones and points are as follows;
    dnkJJSi.png
    The total of each milestone you have received is what you see in your profile or next to a post of yours.
  2. Likes
    You receive likes when someone likes a post of yours. It's not much but it shows how much people likes what you post. I've already explained how to like a post so I will teach you where to see the amounts of likes you have received and for what you received the like.
    Hover your mouse over your name found to the left of the "Inbox". A menu will drop down and from this menu select "likes you've received".

    sfaUWfN.png
    This will take you to a page which shows all the posts you have received a like for and by who. To see your total number of likes you have to view your profile or the details you find next to your post(on the left with the avatar) .

  3. News Feed
    What is a newsfeed?
    Well a newsfeed is where you see the activity of a forum member you have "followed". Yes it is possible to "follow" forum posters on the forum.
    How do I follow a Poster?
    Click "Members",From here search for a member of your choice. Then click his/her name. You will be taken to the posters profile from there choose follow.
    dQEkrQH.png

    8GWFsyu.png
    Now that you have followed a poster,how do you access your newsfeed?
    Like before simply hover your mouse over your name and from that select "your newsfeed" and you will be taken to your newsfeed. Where you will see all the recent activity by the people you have followed.

*Alerts*
____________________________________
Alerts,now this is pretty neat. It basically gives you an alert when someone has posted in one of your threads,liked your posts,posted in a thread you follow and many other things.
How to view Alerts?
There are two ways;
  1. Quick way:
    Hover mouse pointer over alerts button you find next to "Inbox" and check your alerts there.
    T1NKeZH.png
  2. Long way:
    This method basically takes you to a whole new page and you can view your new and old alerts from there.
    To check your alerts simply Hover mouse pointer over alerts button you find next to "Inbox" and click "show all" or you can hover your mouse pointer over your name,found to the left of "inbox" and click alerts from there.

    Y37WLi1.png

    y0Jvfiy.png
Changing Alert Preferences
To change your alert preferences simply follow the hover your mouse pointer over alerts button method and click "Alert Preferences" or you could also do the same from your drop down menu when you hover over your name.
Once you enter this page you will see a list of features each which you can set on or off(tick or untick check box) to not receive a certain type of alert. So if you dont want to get an alert for every single thing simply modify your preferences from here and click "save changed" at the end.

*Conversations*
____________________________________
This is also another very important privilege a forum account users get. This allows you to engage in private/grouped conversation with other forum members.
To start a new conversation hover your mouse pointer over "inbox" and click "Start a New conversation".

GhPeIO4.png
This will take you to a new page. Here you will have to add your participants(upto a maximum of 3 only),Add a subject,message and then hit "start a conversation". If you do not want others to reply make sure you tick "Lock conversation" this will stop anyone from replying. If you want others in the conversation to have the ability to invite new members to the conversation tick "Allow anyone in the conversation to invite others" option.
zafc8qp.png
To view conversations simply hover mouse pointer over "inbox"(works only for recent conversations). Or click inbox and then click "show all".
5mF2Mw1.png
This will take you to your conversations.

Once you're in your inbox,you find 3 quicklinks;

    • Conversations:Shows all your Conversations.
    • Starred Conversations:Shows only your starred conversations.
    • Conversations you started:Shows only conversations you've started.

How to Star a Conversation:
Simply click the check box and a menu will drop down. From this menu you can choose whether to star the conversation,unstar the conversation,mark as read,mark as unread or leave the conversation. Simply select the action you want and click "go".

*Changing Your Signature and Avatar*
____________________________________
Now to changing your siggy and avi(short for signature and avatar).
Let's take a second to read the rules related to Signatures and Avatars first.
*Rules might be a bit outdated
Checkered Jester said:
Signatures and Avatars
  • Avatars must be be 80 x 80 pixels.
  • Signatures must be a maximum of 100 pixels high, and 500 pixels wide. This also includes any lines of text added to the side or underneath the signature.
  • They both must comply with all other rules.
  • They may not be animated
*Changing your Signature
To change your siggy you need to go to the page where this is done. To do so you can use one of the following methods;
  1. Hover mouse over name and click "signature"
    mLp0mxV.png
  2. Or if you find yourself changing your general account details and realize you want to change your siggy,
    x17ywLR.png
Now that we know how to get there,lets see how to actually change your siggy.
To add a image(proper signature) you need to first upload it to a image hosting site. Then once it is uploaded copy the image URL and add it in the text field you get between a image tag or simply click the image BB-code and paste the URL in it.
8mnLPb2.png
eJs6Qwn.png

End Result

7tDZ5XP.png

*Changing your Avatar
To change your avi you need to open the avatar change pop up window. To do so you can use one of the following methods;
  1. Hover mouse over name and click "Avatar"
  2. Enter Profile and when in the profile page click your avatar,
When you click one of these two option a window will pop up. upload avi and click okay. For reasons such as Avi rotation normally adding a avi via a URL is not allowed.
