Questions regarding rams and trebuchets

Does anyone know of a pattern for how rams work exactly ? it seems that the number of defensive units can decrease the efficiency of enemy rams even if there are no trebuchets in the village, does that mean that there's a point where you have a certain amount of defensive troops that trebs are no longer necessary ?

yo, rams attack twice.
so there's the pre-round attack. Rams will do damage according to how many troops and rams you have in your nuke. during this pre-round, nothing will die unless there's trebs. basically war against the wall.

After that you have the actual battle. you're now fighting troops against troops, and fighting against the new level of wall. (so if an enemy went from wall 20 to wall 18 for example, you're now fighting them at 180% defense).
This is why wallbreakers are so effective in battle, because you 100% lose the nuke, but the preround does enough wall damage to make the real fight much easier on your side.

But to answer your question, trebs will always be necessary, to defend against wallbreakers. since defensive troops don't participate in the pre-round.
