Heavy Cavalry

It may be a silly question, but still ...I want to know your opinion about heavy cavalry: can they be used also for attack? ok, I know that they cost a lot of iron, and consume 6 provision on population, but, if I have them and want to sent them on attack, can they handle it, or it will be a total failure?

They do have some offensive strength, but a total waste to attack with. LC cost less iron, less population and do a lot more damage. HC for defending only.

If you want to go just off of Iron usage, here's some stats.
12 LC Per 5 HC - Iron Cost
48 Population Vs 30 Population
1560 LC Combat Strength Vs 750 HC Combat Strength

hc is ok to attack with in an emergency situation when it depends on speed and you dont have time to send other units. recapturing, nobling an easy villa before support arrive etc. but because of resource cost and recruitment speed it isnt to clever to do it frequently
