Attack modifier

In the province I am attacking in, I have a church at level 1. I have been successfully fighting at 105% attack modifier against 1 player. Today I attacked a different player but in the same province and the attack modifier dropped to 65% as if there was no church but I still have a church in the province.

ATM I am wonder why this has dropped as I have lost a few troops due to the attack modifier not working correctly.

If you click on the village information screen of the player you attacked, you will see at the top "Morale", with a value. If you are greater than 4 times the size of your target your troops will take a morale hit. This feature is designed to give smaller players a chance to survive against larger players.

For a full breakdown of the modifiers affecting the fighting strength of your troops you can hover your mouse over the percentage shown in your detailed section of the attack report.
